Team from Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College wins the South Zone finals of Tata Crucible Hackathon 2020
The South Zone finals of Tata Crucible Hackathon 2020 were held on August 13, 2020. 6 teams were shortlisted for the final presentations. Due to the ongoing pandemic all final events were held virtually, and teams presented their solutions online.
The jury for the finals comprised of Mr. Sadiq Basha M, Divisional Manager & Head of New Product Development, Innovation and Tool Manufacturing at TITAN, Mr. Irfan Malik, Co-Founder & CEO - inQ Innovation Global and Australia India Business Council- National Chair for Start-ups and Innovation and Mr. Suneel TS, General Manager Open Innovation and Mr. Shrinivas Kulkarni, Sr. Manager Open Innovation, both from the Tata Group Innovation Office.
The winning team from Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Tamil Nadu comprised of JAGADEESH M, RISHI P, RIBI J, SANTHOSH KUMAR N and VIGNESH M who presented a solution for the challenge titled "Designer Solar Panel – Combine Aesthetics with Performance". Their proposed solution was to use luminescent glass coating for giving the solar panel a more aesthetic look.
The runner up team from SARANATHAN COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING comprised of NISHA FRANCY, KIRTHIKA, BUVANESHWARI, MAHALAKSHMI and SHARVIN SHAKESH. They presented a solution for the two-wheeler safety challenge and proposed creating a DEFENDER Bike Management System which can control over speeding, give obstacle alert, detect whether rider is wearing helmet or not and such other features, which can all prevent an accident.
Team from Tata Motors wins the West Zone finals of Tata Crucible Hackathon 2020
The West Zone finals of Tata Crucible Hackathon 2020 were held on August 12, 2020. Due to the ongoing pandemic all final events were held virtually, and teams presented their solutions online.
6 teams were shortlisted for the final presentations. The jury for the finals comprised of Mr. Satish S., Head Central Technology Services and Innovation Management at Titan, Mr. Harsha Kikkeri, CEO, HoloSuit and Mr. Suneel TS, General Manager Open Innovation and Mr. Shrinivas Kulkarni, Sr. Manager Open Innovation, both from the Tata Group Innovation Office.
The winning team from Tata Motors comprised of Shabir Ahmed S., Sreeraj Janardhanan, Harrish M, and Rama Murty Peddada. After one of the team members had encountered a two wheeler accident himself , the team presented a challenge for the two wheeler safety challenge and their solution is to create a Smart Ride Technology which would replace existing ABS, Combi-Brake system and Stability control systems and provide a safe ride, ensuring better control of the motorcycle at all times while providing maximum possible performance.
The runner-up team from IIM Nagpur comprised of Vishal Sinha, Jyoti Sagar, Talukdar and Jatin Aggarwal. This team presented their solution for the Designer Solar Panel challenge and their proposed solution was to use hexagonal solar cells of blue and black (or any other coating) which can be retrofitted together to form unique designs as per the available designs of the supplier.
Team from N.I.T. Patna wins the East Zone finals of Tata Crucible Hackathon 2020
The East Zone finals of Tata Crucible Hackathon 2020 were held on August 11, 2020. Due to the ongoing pandemic all final events were held virtually, and teams presented their solutions online.
7 teams were shortlisted for the final presentations. The jury for the finals comprised of Mr. Manash Banerjee, Chief CQA & TQM, Tata Steel, Mr. Vijetha Shastry, Executive Director of TiE Bangalore and Mr. Suneel TS, General Manager Open Innovation and Mr. Shrinivas Kulkarni, Sr. Manager Open Innovation, both from the Tata Group Innovation Office.
The winning team from N.I.T Patna comprised of Rishabh Singh, Saket Srivastava, Tanishq Singh, Aditi Anshu and Priyansh Khare. They presented a solution for the Queue management for check in counters and boarding point challenge. They proposed using Machine Learning model and other tools for enhanced user experience and better queue management.
The runner-up team from Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology comprised of Yashraj Panda, Ayush Pandey, Gyana Ranjan Sahoo, Rohit Kumar Das and Mukesh Nayak. Their solution was to create a handheld detector with the use of thermal energy radiator to tackle the challenge of detecting diamonds and ensuring vigilance so that there is no misuse and pilferage of diamonds.
Team from Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta Institute of Technology and Management (NIEC) wins the North Zone finals of Tata Crucible Hackathon 2020
The North Zone finals of Tata Crucible Hackathon 2020 were held on August 10, 2020. Due to the ongoing pandemic all final events were held virtually and teams presented their solutions online.
6 teams were shortlisted for the final presentations. The jury for the finals comprised of Mr. Arul Shanmugasundram, Chief Operating Officer, Tata Power Solar Systems Limited and Mr. Suneel TS, General Manager Open Innovation and Mr. Shrinivas Kulkarni, Sr. Manager Open Innovation, both from the Tata Group Innovation Office.
The winning team from Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta Institute of Technology and Management (NIEC) comprised of Nikunj Aggarwal, Deeksha Dinkar, Aditya Agrawal, Hardik Gossain, and Apoorva Jain.
The team presented an IOT based solution for the two-wheeler safety challenge which includes things like haptic indication, automatic indicator, sudden brake prevention and other features.
The runner-up team from ABES Institute Of Technology, comprised of Muskan Agarwal, Viral Agarwal, Mohd Gulfam, Nikita Rajput and Nipun Tyagi. They too presented a solution for the two-wheeler safety challenge and proposed to create a device that provides alerts for regulation of speed as per the weather, traffic and terrain condition which can help in reducing the chances of accident.
